Weekend in Vegas

Las Vegas, the famous city that never sleeps at night. Who knew how different it would all be. A constant 24 hour cycle. Wake up, breakfast, sun, lunch, explore the strip, dinner and as soon as the sun sets everyone awakes and a whole new city comes to lifeIMG_5639.jpg. I was lucky enough to have a beautiful 34th floor view from the Mandalay Hotel. A 4 start hotel on the famous Las Vegas strip.

Thanks to a business meeting I had the whole weekend to explore Vegas and find out what it was all about. Friday night was filled with walking around and checking out the different casinos on the strip. Walking through the doors of each and single hotel a whole new country/theme was introduced. Caesars Palace, Paris Las Vegas and so many more casinos and hotels transported you to a whole new environment.

Saturday, was full of exploration, from getting up early, having brunch to visiting the Red Rock Canyon and one of the biggest damns in North America. IMG_5662.jpg The Red Rock Canyon is definitely a place to go check out if you are staying in Vegas. It is about a 45 minute drive but worth the time! Make sure you stop by and get some snacks and you’ll be set! If you desire to further explore the beautiful mountain hills, a 7$ entry fee is all that is needed. The road takes you on a beautiful scenic drive by different coloured rocks, and not only that but the drive is filled with many things to see and also many trails to hike on!

As soon as we were done with that my brother and I drove about an hour to reach one of the biggest damns in North America. The Hoover Damn. Construction dates back to 1931 and is more than 220m tall! IMG_5675.jpgParking was about a 10$ fee per car, but other than that there are many tours you can take there, letting you further explore how energy is produced if you desire to learn more.

Soon after that it was only a short 30 min drive back to Vegas! There is definitelyIMG_5678.jpg a lot to see, just make sure you have snacks, water and try and avoid the traffic hours, it could get a little hectic at times!

Until next week,

Leigh and Mihaela
